Car Transport Companies

National car transport drivers and firms that haven't had time to stop by and let the United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration know what they think of the proposed Hours-Of-Service rules and regulations coming down the transport roads of the United States during the miles ahead still have time. The United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recently published a notice advising it has extended the comment period on the HOS proposal to March 4 from February 28, which means transport firms and drivers in the business of controlling car shipping prices still have time to get their comments in.

The United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has indicated the extra time is to allow the agency to review additional data and information concerning the HOS proposal. The agency at the same time also indicated it has made clerical corrections to both the preamble and the regulatory text of its original notice of proposed rulemaking on HOS requirements for the car transport service industry of America, and the transport industry as a whole, during the months and years ahead in America.

Transport drivers and firms that haven't made any comments concerning the proposed Hours-of-Service rulemaking by the United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration should immediately head down to let the agency know what they think of the proposal. This is your chance to let the agency know what you think and possibly change the direction of the FMCSA during the miles ahead.

National car shipping drivers and firms will be happy to hear the news that Daimler Trucks North America recently announced they were starting plans to add about 628 new jobs in their Mt. Holly and Gastonia North Carolina facilities during the miles ahead. At the same time as Daimler Trucks North America announced the new jobs in North Carolina, the company announced plans to hire about 1,300 new workers in total during the first half of 2011, to work in their truck and parts manufacturing factories throughout North America during the years ahead.

Daimler Trucks North America's Mt. Holly Truck Manufacturing Plant is located in Mt. Holly, North Carolina, according to Daimler Trucks North America and car haulers in America, and will in the future add 447 new manufacturing jobs to the roster, along with 27 plant-based administrative positions. DTNA's Gastonia Parts Manufacturing Plant is located in Gastonia, North Carolina, and will add 149 new workers to the manufacturing lines during the months ahead, along with five administrative positions, according to sources at DTNA.

This news might not surprise many transport drivers in the express auto transport business, or many transport firms in general, but this news will definitely put quite a few more Americans back to work, once it becomes reality. It will be a few months before this news is expected to become reality, but at least we have something to look forward to, and we know Daimler Trucks North America is planning on adding more jobs during the miles ahead.

The National Association of Truck Stop Operators Show is happening between February 17-21 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, just the place to meet people in the truck stop business and have a great time with people interested in the same things you like to do and talk about.

Transport industry sources indicate that this gentleman has been asked to be the keynote address during the Green Truck Summit. This seems a good choice since David Strickland heads the agency tasked with setting policy for motor vehicle safety and fuel economy standards in the United States of America during the miles ahead, according to sources in the business of controlling car shipping prices.

Car Shipping Fleets Could Expand in the Future

National firms in the enclosed car shipping business of the United States of America will be interested in the latest news concerning the plans of transport fleets in America thinking about investing in new transport trucks during 2011. The Q1 2011 Fleet Sentiment Report was recently released, and according to the experts looking at this report, a high percentage of transport companies could be thinking about investing in new transport vehicles during 2011, to help keep the vehicles moving to destination on time and budget.

The FSR Buying Index is a simple measure of the planned buying behavior of for-hire, private and government fleets that responded to the CKCVR's Fleet Sentiment quarterly questionnaire, according to transport experts. Apparently, in January 58 percent of the fleets questioned indicated they were planning on placing orders for power equipment during the months ahead, and about 42 percent said they were planning on investing in new trailers during 2011. There wasn't any specific information on the plans of enclosed auto transport providers, but we can certainly expect a percentage of the firms that indicated they were thinking about investing in new equipment in 2011, are in the business of moving cars to destination.

This news will certainly make some car haulers think that the business of transporting vehicles to destination in a reliable, efficient and cost-effective manner is going to increase during the miles ahead in 2011. The road ahead is starting to look a lot better, according to many transport experts, and hopefully these experts are correct and during the months and weeks ahead in the United States of America we'll be seeing a lot more vehicle transports out on the roads.

Of course, we'll have to wait and see what happens during 2011, before we can make a final judgment on this belief, but if things keep getting better, we can probably expect an increase in the volume of customers requiring transport services in the future. The miles ahead will be interesting ones that transport firms in America will be keeping an eye on and hopefully the next Fleet Sentiment Report is even better.

Vehicle Shippers in Minnesota

Transport firms and auto shipping drivers providing transport services in the beautiful American state of Minnesota will be interested in the latest news concerning the Minnesota State Patrol's use of CVSA Level III inspections to determine fatigue in transport drivers. A United States District Court judge has ruled that the Minnesota State Patrol should stop using this inspection regiment during the weeks and months ahead in Minnesota, because this violates the fourth amendment rights of drivers taking vehicles to destination on time and budget in Minnesota.

This is great news for vehicle transport drivers on the transport roads and highways of Minnesota taking vehicles to destination in a reliable, efficient and cost-effective manner, and according to many is a victory for independent drivers operating in Minnesota. According to sources Minnesota's State Patrol has been using a checklist of sorts to determine is transport drivers are fatigued, including the physical appearance of the driver, or transport vehicle, and even the interior condition of the transport vehicle in question. This practice will have to stop with this latest news and this is something that will make lots of drivers smile, when they hear about this ruling by the courts.

Sources also indicate that this means Minnesota State Patrol officers will need to have reasonable suspicion of probable cause in order to conduct inspections on car carriers operating on the roads and highways of Minnesota in the future. A change that will also probably trickle down to the other states in the United States conducting fatigue inspections during the months ahead, according to many transport safety experts close to this affair.
